Basketball Recap: Franklin Central's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

If Decatur Central wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Franklin Central, they should've done a better job of containing Ashlee Baker. The Franklin Central Flashes breezed by the Decatur Central Hawks to the tune of 62-23 on Tuesday thanks in part to Baker, who went 6 for 8 on her way to 17 points and five assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in December of 2023.

The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Duvall, who posted seven points and nine rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last five games she's played.

With the win, Franklin Central broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-4. As for Decatur Central, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Franklin Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 69-33 victory against Beech Grove on the 12th. As for Decatur Central, they will head out to face off against East Central at 7:30 p.m. on December 17th.
