Baseball Recap: La Serna Victorious

It's playoff time, and La Serna had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Oak Hills Bulldogs 4-3.

Gibson Laracuente was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Laracuente wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dominic Segura, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

La Serna kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

La Serna's victory bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Oak Hills, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-10.

As of now, neither La Serna nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
