Stanton entered their tilt with Lamesa on Friday with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. They took down the Lamesa Tornadoes 45-27. Given the Buffaloes' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Tornadoes are ranked 918th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stanton pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Lamesa, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

Stanton will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Ropes at 2:15 p.m. on December 31st. After both having extra time off, Lamesa and Brownfield will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
