Volleyball Recap: Clay-Battelle Has No Trouble Against Wood County Christian

After losing to Wood County Christian the last time they met, Clay-Battelle decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cee-Bees blew past the Wildcat 3-0 on Tuesday. The Cee-Bees not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 30th (when they won 3-0).

Clay-Battelle was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-18, 25-16.

Clay-Battelle found their leader in sophomore Sophia Sandone, who had five digs and five aces.

Clay-Battelle was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in eight consecutive matchups.

Clay-Battelle is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 20-17 record this season. As for Wood County Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Coming up, Clay-Battelle will take on St. Marys at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wood County Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
