Softball Recap: Seattle Academy Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bishop Blanchet, Seattle Academy was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Nathan Hale Raiders by a score of 11-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cardinals considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Maya Leon-Guerrero spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up 14 Ks.

On the hitting side, Tyler Scott was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Opal Andrews, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Seattle Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Nathan Hale, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Seattle Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Ballard at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Nathan Hale will face off against rival Eastside Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
