El Capitan had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the West Hills Wolf Pack 21-19. This was a revenge game for the Vaqueros: when they faced off against the Wolf Pack on October 2nd, they had to take a 26-24 loss.

El Capitan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kylee Frazier led the charge by throwing for 242 yards and one TD, while also rushing for 36 yards. Addison Higuera was another key player, gaining 40 total yards and two touchdowns.

El Capitan's run defense was locked in: West Hills could only muster 2.1 yards per carry. The team can thank Emma Carranza for the heroic effort on defense: she. El Capitan's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 5.3.

El Capitan didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Carranza and Lynette Casarrubias. Carranza has been hot recently, having also posted seven or more total tackles the last four times she's played.

El Capitan's win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for West Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Looking ahead, El Capitan will look to defend their home field on November 1 against Escondido at 5:00 p.m. As for West Hills, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 24-0 victory against Montgomery on the 28th.
