Volleyball Recap: Sonoraville Gets the Win

Sonoraville won the last time they faced Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Phoenix came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Phoenix.

Sonoraville easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-13.

Brylee Cordell paced Sonoraville's offense, picking up 11 kills. Cordell got some help from Jenica Glosson and her 27 assists. Glosson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Despite the defeat, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe had strong showings from Shaylie Maye, who had ten digs, and Kinley Slatton, who had five digs and two assists.

Sonoraville's victory bumped their record up to 25-16. As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-25.

Coincidentally, Sonoraville and Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe will both be playing North Murray the next time they take the court. The Phoenix will head out to face the Mountaineers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
