Softball Recap: John Carroll Falls Short Against Ranked Archbishop Spalding

John Carroll faced Archbishop Spalding in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Patriots fell just short of the Cavaliers by a score of 1-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Patriots were not able to get on the board.

Savannah Claycomb spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
