Softball Recap: 13 Straight Home Wins for Anacoco

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Beauregard, Anacoco was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Evans Eagles a 10-0 shutout. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Tori Haymon made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Jayla Calloway was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, five RBI, and two runs. Those RBI were her first of the season. Sarie Procell was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Anacoco's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Evans, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anacoco will take on Pickering at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Anacoco is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Evans, they will square off against Negreet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
