Preview: Oakwood Panthers vs. Trinidad Trojans
The Oakwood Panthers will be playing at home against the Trinidad Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Oakwood has four straight wins, the Trojans have seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Oakwood stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Coolidge 55-23 on the road. With Oakwood ahead 33-10 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Jacee Youngblood continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 18 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Neel, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Trinidad was beaten by the Eagles 45-12 two weeks ago. Trinidad was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-7.
Oakwood is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Trinidad, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-7.
Everything came up roses for Oakwood against the Trojans in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 64-23 victory. With Oakwood ahead 38-10 at the half, the game was all but over already.
