Basketball Recap: Ponca City Comes Up Short

Ponca City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by the Westmoore Jaguars 78-33. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-26 last Thursday.

When it comes to explaining why Ponca City lost, don't look at Adriel Miller. Despite the final result, he posted seven points and three steals. That's the most steals Miller has posted since back in December of 2024.

Westmoore's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Garrett Barnard, who on his way to 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Finn Frisby, who scored 17 points.

Ponca City's defeat dropped their record down to 3-21. As for Westmoore, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-8.

Ponca City has already played their next contest, a 42-41 victory against Bartlesville on the 21st. Westmoore has also already played their next game (against Moore), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
