After flying high against Montello on Tuesday, Fall River came back down to earth. The Pirates fell 13-10 to the Hilltoppers on Thursday. Even though they lost, the Pirates' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.8 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Fall River got a massive performance out of Caleb Christian, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that Christian has hit this season. Jayden Abegglen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Fall River's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Montello, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Fall River will head out to square off against Williams Bay at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Montello, they will venture away from home to face off against Pardeeville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hilltoppers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season.
