Recap: Crane Medical Cougars vs. Von Steuben Panthers
The Crane Medical Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 25 points or more this season. They breezed by Von Steuben on the road to the tune of 68-21. The victory was just business as usual for Crane Medical, who after eight games remain undefeated this season.
Crane Medical got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sariah Allen out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 steals. The contest was Allen's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Za'Nylah Moaton, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Crane Medical pushed their record up to 8-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Von Steuben, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Crane Medical will be playing at home against North Grand at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Grand will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Crane Medical is ranked 20th). As for Von Steuben, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake View at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake View's defense has only allowed 28 points per game this season, so Von Steuben's offense will have their work cut out for Von Steuben.
