Softball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends Denair's Winning Streak

Denair dropped their record down to 12-9 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Stone Ridge Christian Knights, falling 18-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in April.

Havyn Boucher was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles. Braelyn Marroquin was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

As for Stone Ridge Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

On Stone Ridge Christian's side, Emma Quisenberry made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off five hits. Quisenberry has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Khloe Sphabmixay was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Rennah Friedman, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Denair does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stone Ridge Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 18-4 win against Modesto Christian on the 7th.
