Soccer Game Preview: Mountain Heritage vs. Pisgah

The Mountain Heritage Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Pisgah Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Mountain Heritage managed to keep up with Madison until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Cougars lost 7-1 to the Patriots.

Mountain Heritage's goal came courtesy of Kai'ana Stella, who's now up to 13 this season.

Meanwhile, Pisgah managed to keep up with Tuscola until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Bears came up short against the Mountaineers, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Pisgah can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 280th, while Tuscola are ranked 110th).

Mountain Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8-3. As for Pisgah, they dropped their record down to 6-7-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
