Football Recap: Lompoc Braves vs. Monache Marauders
Lompoc and Monache squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Lompoc had to settle for second. They lost 32-6 to the Monache Marauders. The matchup marked the Braves' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Monache got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was D.J. Shimer out in front who rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Ty Baxter also helped out as he racked up 110 rushing yards.
Lompoc now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Monache, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Lompoc does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monache, they will square off against Porterville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Porterville will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Monache surely won't give up without a fight.
