Basketball Game Preview: Riverside Bulldogs vs. Shenandoah Mustangs

The Riverside Bulldogs will challenge the Shenandoah Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Riverside is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

Riverside is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since January 10th on Tuesday. They took a blow against Treynor, falling 70-38. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while the Cardinals are ranked 28th).

Meanwhile, Shenandoah ended up a good deal behind Tri-Center on Monday and lost 63-46. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now lost seven in a row.

Shenandoah's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Everything came up roses for Riverside against Shenandoah when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 62-30 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Riverside since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
