Softball Recap: Danbury Takes a Loss

Danbury dropped their record down to 16-6-1 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the East Bernard Brahmas by a score of 6-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Brahmas this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 back in February.

As for East Bernard, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 20-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games.

For East Bernard's part, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Zarate, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Danbury will challenge Iola at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.36 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for East Bernard, they will take on Stony Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
