Football Recap: Highwood Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Highwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 50-18 defeat at the hands of the Big Sandy Pioneers. The Mountaineers were not able to make up for their loss to the Pioneers from their previous meeting back in August of 2023.

Highwood now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Big Sandy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Highwood and Big Sandy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Mountaineers see the field they'll take on North Star at 1:00 p.m. on October 11. As for Big Sandy, their break will end when they face Chester-Joplin-Inverness at 7:00 p.m. on October 24.
