Baseball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Red Lion Christian Academy's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Red Lion Christian Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Delmarva Christian Royals by a score of 9-4 on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly five runs.

Logan Hill was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dom Liguori, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Brayden Redmond was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Red Lion Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Delmarva Christian, they dropped their record down to 13-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
