Baseball Recap: Valor Academy Wins Going Away Against Community Charter

Valor Academy not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 29, 2024. Everything went their way against the Community Charter Titans as they made off with an 11-2 win. With that victory, Valor Academy brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Daniel Silva made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Johnny Hughes, who scored three runs and stole seven bases while going 4-for-4. Valor Academy is 2-1 when Hughes posts two or more runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jorge Roman, who scored a run and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Valor Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Valor Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Community Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
