Basketball Game Preview: North East Carolina Prep Husky vs. Tarboro Vikings

The North East Carolina Prep Husky will face off against the Tarboro Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 26 consecutive losses dating back to last season for North East Carolina Prep and three for Tarboro.

North East Carolina Prep is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Washington County on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. North East Carolina Prep was dealt a 48-14 loss at the hands of Washington County. The Husky were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-8.

Meanwhile, Tarboro took a blow against SouthWest Edgecombe on Wednesday, falling 66-9. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 507th, while the Cougars are ranked 88th).

North East Carolina Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-25. As for Tarboro, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

North East Carolina Prep suffered a grim 44-24 defeat to Tarboro in their previous meeting back in January. Can North East Carolina Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
