At the plate, Connor Clayton was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Landon Hu was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Sultana ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Loyola 6-5. That's two games straight that the Sultans have won by just one run.
Sultana saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Gamez, who went 2-for-4 with one run.
Sultana is on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for West Ranch, their victory bumped their record up to 22-9.
