Basketball Recap: Pelham Extends Winning Streak to Three

Pelham proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 33) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Mitchell County Eagles 47-45. The victory was nothing new for the Hornets as they're now sitting on three straight.

Pelham got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was De'Asiayah Johnson out in front who posted 18 points and three steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Akaya Pollard, who scored seven points.

Pelham's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Mitchell County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

Pelham wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 39-32 win against Terrell County on the 12th. Mitchell County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
