Baseball Recap: Heritage Christian Has No Trouble Against Kenosha Christian Life

Heritage Christian came out on top against Kenosha Christian Life on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Patriots blew past the Eagles 7-1. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

F. Siebert was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Heritage Christian's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 5-1 (and 0-4 when he doesn't). Siebert was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, I. Dufek was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Heritage Christian: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ca. Gordon, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

The victory got Heritage Christian back to even at 5-5. As for Kenosha Christian Life, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Heritage Christian and Kenosha Christian Life will both be playing St. John's Northwestern Military Academy the next time they take the field. The Patriots will head out to face the Lancers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
