Basketball Recap: Karns Takes a Loss

Karns was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Farragut Admirals, falling 73-47. While losing is never fun, the Beavers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while the Admirals are ranked 53rd).

Dominic Vanacker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Farragut, shooting 4-for-7 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Parker Lane, who went 5 of 10 en route to 14 points.

Karns' loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Farragut, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Karns will venture away from home to square off against Oak Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Farragut, they are taking a road trip to challenge McMinn Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
