Football Recap: Dunedin Falcons vs. Hollins Royals

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dunedin). They came out on top against the Hollins Royals by a score of 27-14 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Falcons also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.

Michael Rodriguez went supernova for Dunedin, rushing for 170 yards and a touchdown, while also picking up 30 receiving yards. Rodriguez also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making a tackle (1.0 for loss) and defending a pass.

Dunedin wouldn't let Hollins keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Dunedin can thank Jeremiah Tokar and Andrew Gearhart for forcing both of them.

Although Hollins took the loss, they still got scores from Shawndre Reddick and Bobby Mcaffee.

The victory got Dunedin back to even at 2-2. As for Hollins, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dunedin will welcome Seminole at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dunedin is out to stop a eight-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season. As for Hollins, they will host Sunlake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hollins focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Friday.
