Softball Game Preview: Landrum Cardinals vs. Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers

The Landrum Cardinals will take on the Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Landrum's victory against Polk County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Landrum narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Polk County 3-1. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Blue Ridge hadn't done well against Crescent recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Blue Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Crescent, sneaking past 8-7. The win was some much needed relief for the Fighting Tigers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Chloe Manley and B Bayne did most of the damage at the plate: Manley scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Bayne scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Lily Mulkey was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Landrum now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Blue Ridge, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
