Baseball Recap: Robert C. Byrd Gets the Win

The Robert C. Byrd Eagles were able to grind out a solid victory over the Keyser Golden Tornado on Wednesday, taking the game 8-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Robert C. Byrd let Ashton Shaffer and Cooper Floyd run wild. Shaffer went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Floyd went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits Shaffer has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Carvelli, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Robert C. Byrd was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Keyser only posted a batting average of .167.

Robert C. Byrd's record is now 16-9. As for Keyser, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-18-1.

As of now, neither Robert C. Byrd nor the Golden Tornado have any future games scheduled.
