Soccer Recap: Southington Comes Up Short

Southington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Plainville Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, Southington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut soccer rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Plainville are ranked 24th).

Southington's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10-2. As for Plainville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Southington will take on rival New Britain at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Plainville is set to face off against their familiar foe Newington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
