Softball Game Preview: Hamilton Township Rangers vs. Liberty Union Lions

Hamilton Township is 2-8 against Liberty Union since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Rangers will head out to square off against the Lions at 5:15 p.m.

Hamilton Township is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Logan Elm, falling 9-0.

Meanwhile, Liberty Union waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hawks a 12-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won ten games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Liberty Union pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hamilton Township, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.

Hamilton Township might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Liberty Union in their previous matchup on April 7th. Can the Rangers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
