Softball Game Preview: Gaston Greyhounds vs. Nestucca Bobcats

For the second straight game, Gaston will face off against Nestucca. The Greyhounds will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Bobcats at 3:00 p.m.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Gaston turned things around against Nestucca on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 15-7 victory. Considering the Greyhounds' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

For Nestucca's part, McKennah McDonald was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Ulrich, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Nestucca is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13. As for Gaston, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-7.
