Volleyball Recap: Andrew Comes Up Short

Andrew lost against Sandburg back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Thunderbolts fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-1.

Andrew started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-20, 25-17.

Scott Dinnon paced Andrew's offense, picking up 15 kills. Dinnon got some help from Sean Gagen and his 25 assists.

Andrew's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-19. As for Sandburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season.

Andrew will challenge Stagg at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sandburg, they will face off against Saint Ignatius College Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles are facing the Wolfpack at the right time seeing as the Wolfpack are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
