Volleyball Recap: Miami-Yoder Buffaloes vs. Elbert Bulldogs
Miami-Yoder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Elbert Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.
Miami-Yoder took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 18-25, 24-26, 25-15, 15-6.
Mindy Quintana paced Miami-Yoder's offense, picking up six kills. Quintana got some help from Miranda Howard and her ten assists. Quintana and Howard didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with four apiece.
Miami-Yoder's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Elbert, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.
Miami-Yoder has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Kiowa on the 10th. As for Elbert, they will face off against Evangel Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
