Softball Recap: Northwest Cabarrus Comes Up Short

Northwest Cabarrus suffered their biggest defeat since February 28th on Tuesday. They lost 16-1 to the East Rowan Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 back in February.

Northwest Cabarrus saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haylee Ellis, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

This is the second loss in a row for Northwest Cabarrus and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for East Rowan, their victory was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Coincidentally, Northwest Cabarrus and East Rowan will both be playing South Rowan the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will head out to face the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Trojans will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
