Basketball Game Preview: College Park Falcons vs. Livermore Cowboys

The College Park Falcons will square off against the Livermore Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

College Park's tournament run continued when they took on Santa Rosa on Saturday. College Park fell to Santa Rosa 68-64.

Despite their loss, College Park saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Miles Cooper, who posted 20 points and seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Cooper's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Steven Barnett, who had 16 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Livermore had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three last Saturday. They walked away with a 75-67 victory over the Panthers. Given the Cowboys' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Panthers are ranked 633rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Livermore pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for College Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
