Basketball Recap: Gracyn Tillman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Union over Nanih Waiya

Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Nanih Waiya Warriors. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-40 two weeks ago.

Union lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Gracyn Tillman, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Rymia Craft was another key player, putting up 15 points along with seven boards and five assists.

Even though they lost, Union was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Union's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Nanih Waiya, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

Union will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pisgah at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th. Nanih Waiya and McAdams will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
