Basketball Recap: North Point Comes Up Short

North Point and Broadneck squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but North Point had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Broadneck Bruins by a score of 42-40. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the loss, North Point still got an impressive performance from Landhn Mathis, who posted 12 points and six assists. Mathis has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was DJ Brown, who had four points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

North Point's loss dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Broadneck, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-9.

North Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Broadneck, they will take on Leonardtown on Tuesday. One thing working in Leonardtown's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
