Recap: Reagan Bison vs. Goleman Gators
The Reagan Bison's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by Goleman on the road and fell 46-17. Reagan was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-9.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Goleman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Akayla Edwards, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Edwards has scored at least 25% of Goleman's points. Another player making a difference was Ava Berman, who scored ten points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Reagan's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Goleman, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
After both having extra time off, Reagan and Divine Savior Academy will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 3:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Divine Savior Academy is ranked 606th, while Reagan is ranked 622nd). Goleman will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Jackson at 3:30 p.m. on January 10, 2024.
