Basketball Game Preview: Herriman Mustangs vs. Highland Rams + Official Tickets

Herriman is a perfect 4-0 against Highland since December of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Mustangs will head out to square off against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Herriman is headed out to face Highland after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Mustangs put the hurt on Orem with a sharp 58-35 win on Tuesday. The Mustangs pushed the score to 46-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers had little chance of recovering from.

Herriman's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylee Hansen, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. Those 15 points gave Hansen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Cannon, who posted 16 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Highland had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They took down Granger 58-39.

Highland's win came from a few key players Herriman will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Taylor Gurgel, who almost dropped a double-double with 24 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Haven Acra, who went 6-for-11 en route to 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Everything came up roses for Herriman against Highland in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 49-19 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
