Basketball Game Preview: Shorecrest Prep Chargers vs. Bradenton Christian Panthers

The Shorecrest Prep Chargers will head out on the road to take on the Bradenton Christian Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Shorecrest Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.2 points per game this season.

Shorecrest Prep is headed into Friday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They took a 52-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tampa Prep on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Terrapins are ranked 61st).

Nickolas Bearden put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted 22 points. The match was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ahmad Crumity, who put up seven points.

Meanwhile, Bradenton Christian strolled past Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 59-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Bradenton Christian is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Shorecrest Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.

Shorecrest Prep took a serious blow against Bradenton Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, falling 65-37. Can Shorecrest Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
