Eduardo Gutierrez commands the offense for Tigers win

Recap: Summit Tigers vs. Moffat County Bulldogs

Even though the Moffat County Bulldogs scored an imposing 61 points on Friday, the Summit Tigers still came out on top. Summit walked away with a 72-61 win over Moffat County. With that win, Summit brought their scoring average up to 51.1 points per game.

Summit's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eduardo Gutierrez, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gutierrez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hank Chabot, who scored 16 points along with seven assists and four steals.

Moffat County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ian Champ hafey, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Bryant Carlson was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with three steals.

Summit now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Moffat County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Summit won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Steamboat Springs at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Steamboat Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. Moffat County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Delta at 3:30 p.m. on January 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Delta is ranked 167th, while Moffat County is ranked 153rd).
