Basketball Game Preview: Brenham Cubs vs. Rudder Rangers

Brenham and Rudder are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Brenham Cubs will head out to square off against the Rudder Rangers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Brenham lost to A&M Consolidated at home by a 50-31 margin. While losing is never fun, the Cubs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 564th, while the Tigers are ranked 271st).

Antyianna Lang put forth a good effort for the losing side as she went 5 of 7 on her way to 12 points and eight rebounds. She has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times she's played.

Meanwhile, Rudder strolled past College Station with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 56-38. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rangers.

Brenham dropped their record down to 11-13 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Rudder, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Brenham beat Rudder 34-24 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brenham since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
