Football Game Preview: Dunedin Falcons vs. Lakewood Spartans

The Dunedin Falcons will head out to take on the Lakewood Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dunedin will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

While Dunedin didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Hollins by a score of 7-0 on Thursday. Give the Falcons' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Dunedin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Samayah Barnes, Olivia Santoro, and Abby Hooper picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, after only 12 points in their last contest, Lakewood made sure to put some points up on the board against Indian Rocks Christian on Thursday. Lakewood blew past Indian Rocks Christian 31-6. The Spartans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Dunedin's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 0.0 points on average over those games. As for Lakewood, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
