Baseball Game Preview: Warren Township Blue Devils vs. Mundelein Mustangs

Warren Township hasn't had much luck against Mundelein recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Blue Devils are taking a road trip to challenge the Mustangs at 4:45 p.m. Warren Township's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Mundelein's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Warren Township managed to slip by Buffalo Grove the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Blue Devils came up short against the Bison on Saturday, falling 12-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Blue Devils have suffered since May 4, 2024.

Meanwhile, Mundelein fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Hersey on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (6-5), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Mundelein got a good showing from Logan Young, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Young has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mundelein saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Earing, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Warren Township and nudges their season record down to 14-5. As for Mundelein, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5-2.
