Basketball Recap: Lake Belton Takes a Loss

If Lake Belton was riding high fresh off their 74-47 takedown of Sulphur Springs last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lake Belton Broncos fell just short of the Gatesville Hornets by a score of 52-50 on Tuesday. The Broncos were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 70-63.

Lake Belton has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Gatesville, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.

Lake Belton is taking a road trip to challenge Smithville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Gatesville will take on Waco in a holiday battle at on Friday.
