Baseball Game Preview: Owensboro Red Devils vs. Muhlenberg County Mustangs

The Owensboro Red Devils are taking a road trip to challenge the Muhlenberg County Mustangs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Thursday, Owensboro came up short against Butler County and fell 6-3.

Meanwhile, Muhlenberg County suffered their biggest loss since April 25, 2025 on Friday. They came up short against Breckinridge County, falling 12-2.

Muhlenberg County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carver Rice, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Muhlenberg County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Owensboro, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Owensboro couldn't quite get it done against Muhlenberg County when the teams last played back in May of 2025 as they fell 3-0. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
