Basketball Recap: Don Pedro Takes a Loss

Don Pedro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Vanguard College Prep Lions 78-8. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 72-5 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Vanguard College Prep found their leader in freshman Nicolas Murithii, who went 11 of 17 en route to 23 points. The dominant performance gave Murithii a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Nathan Muriithi, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Don Pedro's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Vanguard College Prep, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-10.

Don Pedro will square off against Humphreys Able Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vanguard College Prep has already played their next match (against Stockton Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
