Basketball Game Preview: Great Oak Wolfpack vs. Vista Murrieta Broncos

The Great Oak Wolfpack will head out to challenge the Vista Murrieta Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Great Oak knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matchups -- so hopefully Vista Murrieta likes a good challenge.

On Wednesday, Great Oak came up short against Murrieta Valley and fell 68-58. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolfpack in their matchups with the Nighthawks: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Vista Murrieta's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 91-86 hit to the loss column at the hands of Temecula Valley. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (56), the Broncos still had to take the loss.

Vista Murrieta's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Great Oak, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5.

Great Oak barely slipped by Vista Murrieta when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 75-74. The rematch might be a little tougher for Great Oak since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
