Volleyball Recap: Calie Phillips and Amelia Smith Secure Win for Williston

Williston's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They skirted past the Nature Coast Tech Sharks 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Red Devils as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Williston was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 17-25, 22-25, 25-16, 15-12.

Leading Williston to victory were Amelia Smith and Calie Phillips. Smith had 23 digs and two assists, while Phillips had ten digs. Those 23 digs gave Smith a new career-high.

The win got Williston back to even at 3-3. As for Nature Coast Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Williston will head out to take on Lafayette at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Nature Coast Tech, they will welcome Hernando at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
